When I was asked to do a review and giveaway for a CafePress Christmas Ornaments I was excited. I went to their site, hundreds of pages of ornaments. It was very easy to browse, they had Popular ornament categories so could look at kids ornaments, funny, sports, animals, military, even Obama ornaments. I was trying to find the prefect ornament to review. It took me two hours, for real. My husband was on his computer I kept say look at this, it would be prefect for Bri. It was a Puggle Christmas ornament. Cafe Press has 417 different Puggle ornaments. You have to go see their wide selection to believe it. What ever is special to you they have it on a ornament, If you cant find it you can make it.
Then I saw the Twilight Ornaments. Some of them were so funny. No matter what Team you are on, If you like Twilight you will love these.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 439 Newer› Newest»oh that's AWESOME! I'm jealous! I've tried entering so many giveawys in attempts to win stuff for my 6 year old little sister. but most of the giveaways with kid stuff are 'mom blogs' that get SO many entries for kid-related giveaways.
EEK, I didn't know that Emmy!!!! I wonder why?!?!
I told the lady I work with about all the things I have won, and she says, "I don't have time for that" My response--it doesn't take that much time if you know what you are doing :) LOL!!
LOL, you sound like me. I bought 250 cards because overnightprints was having a good sale. And a few days later, I won a 500 giveaway.
And the scary thing is, I've gone through a lot already (I use them for so many things)
I just was able to get into your profile April-did you change something? if not it is working for me.
i dunno :-/. blogger confuses me. Do you ever have trouble getting to someones blog who has followed you? Because I like to at least consider following people back who follow me. so i try to check out their blogs - but sometimes when i click on their icons in my 'followers' area, it take sme to their profile but not their blog.
so i used to think that meant that that person didn't have a blog.
but then once i saw that a person started following me, and i went in and they had no blog link, so i was ilke oh they don't have a blog. Well then I saw that they had commented on a post of mine as well, and when i clicked their comment it took me to their blog.
Okay, profile fixed. You all can go stalk my blog, although no giveaways (maybe tomorrow though).
oh it's working for me too now april.
Thank you SOOOO much Emmy! I had no clue. It's a little checkbox on the top of the page. Maybe I accidentally clicked it. :/
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. It is SNOWING so BAD!!
hahah! i already follow you april! who knew?! weirdddddd
Once you get into a system, it doesn't take long at all. Of course, then you run into the all-nighter live giveaways that just SUCKS the time away from you. :P
Do you hear that, Emmy? I swear I hear the Twilight Zone music playing? ^.^
I need to go put some laundry in and fold some, and all of that fun routine. Happy Holidays :)
Yeah I won a couple uprinting ones too. I haven't sent away for them yet.
I have been approved by the sponsorship program but haven't hosted yet
I want more snow. We got tons, but it hasn't snowed for a couple days and I am worried it will melt. I want it to stay for Christmas
Most of my kids presents were won this christmas!
I only just got obsessed with this whole giveaway thing, but it has saved our butt this christmas
At first my husband was getting fed up with my face being stuck in the laptop constantly. But then he noticed all the stuff I've won and he changed his tune.
we're a single income family with 4 kids. We can use all the help we can get.
LOL Neicey. I need to win something totally kick-butt and "guy-ish" for my DH to get him fully on board.
niecey - wow i love your header and stuff. it's so cool how they resemble your kids so closely!
Yeah emmy, when they changed the way the followers thing works, I found it harder too, to follow someone who newly follows me. You used to be able to just click on their icon, but now a weird thing pops up. It confuses me too.
aww yeah. the first two giveaways i've been approved to host are from crazydogt's and nachomamatee's and i wound up letting ym bf pick out a shirt from each cause they barely had any girl clothes. at first i was SO excited becuase crazydog ahd this really cute mario t shirt, that i had ALMOST bought at kohls on black friday, but didn't.
and i asked if i could review it and they said it had JUST sold out. =[.
but, he's pretty excited about them which is cool. and he actually needs clothes, where as i have way more than i could ever need. haha.
Okay, seriously, going to go work on some cloth wipes for a few minutes.
haha yeah, my husband would sure feel differently if I won an iphone or something. But winning kids toys means I'm not spending as much of his money so it's all good
Thank you emmy. I need to work on my blog, the sidebar is all messed up. I keep meaning to get to it.
Eek, Emmy! I hope they get that shirt back in stock, because that's the one I want if I win it from a giveaway on another blog.
^.^
*closes window to avoid distraction*
later taters, see you in a bit!
Ooh cloth wipes. Again with the I don't sew thing. I just take flannel receiving blankets and snip them up. They fray a little over time but not too badly.
Ooh I've been wanting to win a tshirt from crazy dog. I keep trying but haven't won one yet. I want the flux capacitor shirt. for the DH. He'd love it.
With cloth wipes or even diapers - do you have to wait until you get an entire laundry load of just diapers and wipes? Or do you wash them with your regular clothes?
niecey - you should contact them for a sponsorship. I only had 92 followers when I asked and they said yes. and i'd never done a giveaway before. I bet they'd approve you at least for a review.
well emmy I'm following you now so hopefully I won't miss your giveaways when they come :)
GAH! Baby Sprout woke up, so here again. These may have to wait until morning.
I wash my cloth diapers by themselves, every 2- 3 days.
I <3 cloth diapers. We could get to 1000 comments by me talking about them. *blush*
april - yay for mario fans! I love video games when I find good ones. but i hate shooting, racing, war, etc. games. so it's rare that I find them that I like.
are they literally just cloth? What makes them absorbent enough to handle nighttime or toddlers?
LOL, I'm the same way. Hard to find non-violent ones that aren't sports related or too childish (ability-wise. I don't mind sickening-cute, just want a challenge, too!)
april - haha yeah that's me too! Do you play katamari? I'm SOOOOOOO in love.
There are so many different kinds. But basically you have two components, regardless what "system" you use- an absorbent part and a waterproof/resistant part.
The absorbent is just cloth. Usually cotton (like prefolds, lots and lots of thin layers), or bamboo and hemp, both of which are VERY absorbent.
I've ALWAYS wanted to play, but never have. *cries*
Well, I did get a free 5- minute trial on my phone, and even on the teeny screen with crappy controls, I fell in love with it.
Maybe I will start hinting around to DH about it. :P
I love my cloth diapers. I use prefolds and kissaluvs and fuzzi bunz and bum genius
Though my least favorite is the bum genius. Because they have the velcro and my kids just rip it off and end up with naked bums.
my browswer is doing weird things. showing old comments, closing itself and losing my tabs. And scrolling down without me asking it too. Driving me nuts. and it posted twice when I didn't tell it to.
We use mostly prefolds, Thirsties and fleece covers, and various doublers/liners as needed.
We do have a few fitted ones that I've acquired super cheap off of diaperswappers (and the GM that I won a few weeks ago ^.^)
I wonder what keeps most people from using them? I don't know anyone in person who does, and there are SO many babies in my family, it's ridiculous.
My little sister is six now, but from birth we tried so many different brands of diapers to find something that wouldn't rash her and the only thing she could have was pampers. and they are SO expensive. and she just in the last year and a half or so has gotten where she doesn't get diapered at night. so even once she was potty trained my mom still brought diapers a couple of times a month for a long time. i can't imagine how much money that was in total.
I have to go read bedtime stories and try to put the kids to bed.
LOL Neicely. If the baby is running around with just a diaper, I'll put a fleece soaker over the thirsties just to keep fingers away from velcro!
april - i love it so much! I REALLY want to play the new one for the ps3. we don't have a ps3, but my cousin does (i got her addicted to katamari to begin wtih) and so she got the new katamari and it lets you suck objects into you instead of rolling over them. and i guess it's just really awesome. haha. i'm so jealous.
It's I Lorelei tonight. Written by the lady who did the voice of lisa simpson.
Good luck Niecely (Sorry I keep misspelling your name!)
Ah April, that's a good idea. with the soakers.
I'm not sure, Emmy. I guess they think it's too much work? It is a little more work, but you get used to it. Once you get started, it doesn't feel like more work, because it's just what you do, just like any other part of parenting, or life for that matter.
I refuse to use disposables because of the cost (especially with my kids so close together, I would have been buying multiple packs/sizes a week for years now), and the insane amount of waste. I just can NOT fathom having every single diaper my 3 children have worn in the past 4 years in a pile in my backyard. It would be a mountain as big as the mountains we live in!!
But no, instead, they are all in a basket, fresh smelling and fluffy, even though some have been in use for years now. ^.^
Plus.... you don't get this kind of cute with disposable:
http://myenchanteddandelions.blogspot.com/2009/09/pumpkin-butt.html
Instead of putting together a nursery (since we cosleep anyways), I spent my pregnancy building a diaper stash (on a very tight budget)
It's all rainbow-y!
http://myenchanteddandelions.blogspot.com/2008/06/weebus-rainbow-diaper-stash.html
aww they are really cute! i spyed a alien/monster one! hehehe
Off to go find some snack-y food. :P
Do you know how to get in to give myself a little icon like you guys have?
I got a piece of leftover cheesy cornbread from dinner. :P
I'm going to guess just going into your blogger profile and uploading an profile picture. I think it's towards the bottom.
im eating pretzles. hehe. i'm so thrilled to have found this brand at our local dollar store that CRAMS the bag full of pretzles and the bag is 1$! I love it.
I was gone for too long!! I may not have a chance now!!
My hubby is studying for finals, my girls are asleep, and I am filling up the bath. I am ready for some ME time.
I love my Christmas Tree. I could stare at it all day. So many memories with my ornaments.
do either of you happen to have an interest in a free uprinting 16 by 24 poster? I won 2 of those and 2 canvas prints, so i had a canvas print made for myself and got one made as a gift but have no use/want for the two poster prints. they have to be used before dec 31st.
I am so in the Christmas Spirit. I decided tomorrow after church is going to be my baking day!!
I would LOVE something like that, Emmy! I would get my Enchanted Dandelions logo/design printed on it, to use during future craft shows/festivals.
I'll send you an Owie Bag for it.
::wub:: Gosfam. I <3 xmas trees for that very reason.
WOOT for some you-time, Gosfam!
And WOOT for non-stingy pretzels!
hahaha. for sure! I hate how most bags of chips are only half full. so dumb.
Have you guys had any luck with sweepstakes?? Every so often, I'll read sweetie's sweepstakes blog, get all excited and hopeful, but then get discouraged after winning nothing after a couple weeks (doing multiple ones at that).
I guess I just like blog ones since you can SEE how many entries you are up against, so it doesn't feel like such a crapshoot.
well, the big ones are sleeping but the baby refuses to. What did I miss?
My favorite is the Spoiling Grandma~Too cute :-)
http://twitter.com/Deb55106/status/6620297817
april - yeah I agree. I don't usually enter giveaways with more than 150 entries. only on occasion if it's something I could really use or really like, etc. I tend to stick to giveaway blogs that keep low comments.
I've never been a big sweepstakes fan. Seems like much less of a chance of winning to me.
Yeah I try to stick with low comment ones too. Like etsy ones. Sometimes I search blogs on google for the word etsy giveaway. Or "my first" giveaway. Is that terrible of me?
Hi Deb! Glad you can join us... not too much longer!
I do follow a website called i love free things. i fanned them on twitter. they usually post lame things like 'free sticker' and stuff like that. haha. but they occasionally have good ones. i did receive a free pair of pj shorts last week from one of the sites they posted. and they post a lot of samples from feminine product brands and stuff which i love cause i hate paying for that kinda stuff. and it's so expensive.
I do sometimes feel guilty, gatecrashing some small giveaway, but they do it to get more followers and I do follow and I do learn about new products. And I do discover new websites. So it's all good, right?
Hahaha, niecey!!
I search on Twitter for "low entries".
LOL okay I have to share my favorite giveaway blogs!
http://silversavings.blogspot.com/
http://peachesreviewsandgiveaways.blogspot.com/
and the third is this one, that you guys of course know about. haha. but those two are still semi new and usually have fairly low comments. i LOVE them. haha.
I like http://www.shop4freebies.com/
it has a new list every day. Some lame stuff but some good stuff. It's worth a quick peek in every day
Oooh, thanks for sharing, Emmy. Free stuff rawks.
Awesome, thanks emmy. I guess I should share my treasures too
http://babyluxedaily.com
http://sassyfrazz.blogspot.com
I don't feel toooo guilty, because like you said, I learn about new products I would have never heard about, and do share what I learn.
I do only enter for stuff that I would use, or could giveaway to family for gifts.
I love when I discover fairly new giveaway blogs and have better odds of winning--LOL!!
or like if there's an item I see being given away a lot, like the crazy dog tshirts, I'll search crazy tog giveaway in google under the blogs tab. And I discover new giveaway blogs that way. Is that cheating or something?
My bath is calling me now, have fun commenting!! I may have a SPRINT for the finish and comment tons later :)
Oh totally. I don't enter anything I wouldn't use or I don't know someone who would want it either. So no guilt then? Phew that's a relief. hehe
arg the baby is crawling all over my incisions trying to get comfy. not comfy for me
Enjoy your bath, gosfam. :)
Here's my tip if you use Firefox. Download the Clippings add-on, and set up shortcut keys for commonly typed things.
I have my email address (which is pretty long), "I have your button on my blog at http://mountainmommagiveaways.blogspot.com" "Blogged about this giveaway:" "following you on Twitter (@vamountainmomma)", etc.
Makes it go a little faster since you are only hitting a few keys to automatically copy/paste.
Make it a nice bubbly one. ah sounds blissful.
hahaha. this is making me all giddy! I have two new AWESOME sites to follow AND new techniques for finding giveaways! =D
Oh, and obviously I ALWAYS do the thing I said I did. Just saves a few seconds in typing the comment (which helps, especially since I'm on sloooooow dial-up!)
April, you are a genius! I will totally add that firefox addon. it would make things so much faster! I have so many tabs open now from newly suggested sites but as soon as I get through them i'll set that up. awesome!
Enjoy your bath, GosFam! Always nice to have a little me-time to relax!
yeah so even if we don't win the ornament we at least got something out of this :) hehe
hahaha. for sure =]
yeah if it saves a few seconds at a time, those seconds add up. it could end up earning me a whole extra 5 minutes to have a coffee or...heck who am I kidding, I'll just spend the time entering more giveaways
plus i got a bit of tech help! lol.
how do you follow sites that don't have either the google friend connect thing or the follow link in the top left? like your babyluxe site?
NetworkingWitches.com always has a bunch of giveaways. Some have crazy entries, but others don't.
(And take note that while some may look like a lot of comments, they offer a ton of ways to enter. Easy to get 10 entries right off the bat, so even if there is already 70 entries, still good odds)
I've won 3 things from them in the past few weeks.
i find those giveaway sites with the forms annoying. Anyone else? The ones where you have to refill in the form for every entry and you get like 10 extra entries for adding a button, so you're sitting forever filling in forms and then you figure that keychain you're trying to win really isn't worth all the time and energy...
Do you guys Twitter? You know, in case I ever wanna chat with people who understand the giveaway obsession. ^.^
My personal one in which I tweet about my Sprouts, my etsy shop, chat with friends, etc. is @MagicDandelions.
@VaMountainMomma is where I RT twitter giveaways and tweet about giveaways.
i bookmarked the baby luxe site, in my tabs at the top. You could subscribe to the rss too
I kinda like the ones with forms just so that I don't have to put my email in a comment that the world can see. but if i submit a comment and then go to submit another, and my info didn't save, then i usually give up.
I like the ones that have forms but save your name, email, website, etc.
I hate the ones that make you do capatcha for every comment.
I haven't come across any like that, Niecely. That would be annoying, though.
my personal twitter, which I rarely use recently
@nieceyd
my giveaways one
@goodieslist
Oooooh, I hate captcha.
I would love to win this~Thanks for the great chance!
Merry Christmas!!
Can't believe we are over 300 comments already!
Or when they have comment will show after being approved by moderator, and I get half way through the 10 extra entries and then a kid needs a cup of milk or soemthing and I go back to it and completely forgot where I was at and there's no way to know. That's frustrating. hehe.
Christmas is my favorite time of the year :-)
We are getting more snow on Monday!!
Oh, and I rather the comments not be moderated, just because when I'm on a roll, sometimes I forget what I've done already. :P
And the wordpress ones which say "slow down. You are posting comments too quickly" and you have to wait and sing a song in your head before submitting the next one saying "I follow number 3 " or whatever.
Christmas Music is so refreshing!!
any of you know a mass unfollow site? i'm stuck because only 1700 some people follow me but i'm at 2001 so i cna't follow anyone new =[
LOL... GMTA, Niecely!
Hahaha, Emmy. That too.
We should write a book! >.<
I'm not familiar with capatcha...
Yay for more snow, Deb!!
I didn't realize there was an upper limit on following...
Captcha is when you have to enter the words/characters to prove you aren't a robot before entering the comment (or webform, or whatever)
Emmy- I was serious about the trade. If interested, email me... enchanteddandelions@gmail.com ^.^
it's only at certain points. like, you can't follow more than 2000 if less than 1900 or something, are following you. I'm not sure waht the actual number is.
oh ok. I always just called it word verification.
I totally missed the trade thing? was that recently or a ways back?
I quite like it then, when you get it on one of the blogger pop ups, because I just type my comment then hit tab and do the word verification and then hit return without having to fidget with the laptop mouse pad thingy
I use TwitterFox (actually, I think it's called Echofon now). It's a Firefox add-on, and puts Twitter in a little pop up box in the corner of your browser. Like I have it open, while I'm typing this.
makes tweeting easier, as you don't have to toggle between windows.
Yeah we totally need to get together and write a book on how to be successful at giveways or something hehe.
oh my gosh, I'm so going to look up twitter fox. that sounds great.
does anyone know if there is a firefox add on to make things pop up in a pop up window instead of a tab? You know how sometimes blogger comment come up in a new pop up window? I prefer that. But sometimes it's a whole new tab. I wish I could change it to a pop up, and have tried looking for an add on but can't find one. I guess I could make it a whole new window but smaller, but that would be cumbersome.
For the uprinting poster. I'll be glad to send you an Owie Bag for one (or both, if you can't find another use/person for it).
I would love to put one up in my sewing room. It would make my little business seem a little more official, even if I am working in a spare bedroom, Sprouts' toys all over the place, husband nascar memoorbilia crap on the wall, etc.
Plus I hope to do some craft shows/festivals next spring/summer.
WOW my bath was WAY too HOT!! I couldn't stay in there too long. Now I am tired though :) Relaxed tired.
Wow that's crappy about the following limitations.
that sounds awesome gosfam
Warning... if you use TwitterFox, your internet productivity will decrease by at least 32.8%. :P I never really got into tweeting (for fun) before then, but it makes it like a little chat room box.
Joy To The World!! I really need to get off of hear. I keep coming back :)
I love me a hot bath. I'm on showers only because of the surgery but I feel a cold or flu type thing don't worry I'm not contagious over the internet) setting in and could do with sweating it out in a piping hot bath.
Niecey it actually was awesome something I haven't done in a LONG time.
I don't think I've come across any blogs that the comment for popped up in a new window. *hmmm*
oh sure! I'd love one of your owwie bags!
The way uprinting sets it up, is they attach the free posters to my uprinting account. so I think I'd have to have you send me the image you want to use, and upload it and then just change my address to yours, on my uprinting account. Know what I mean?
Sounds amazing, Gosfam. I haven't taken a super hot bath like that in forever.
I have tweetdeck but I didn't find it all that wonderful. It kept making annoying noises and didn't integrate as well with facebook as it claimed, I found. I stopped using it.
Quick question ladies: how would you feel if you took your 4 mo old to daycare and only one adult was there most of the time with your baby and 10 other kids?
you can change how your comments come up on other peoples computers. i prefer the pop up comments as well, and so i set my blog that way.
but i'm not sure if you can change peoples preferences through an add on or what not.
Ah, I didn't think about that. But if you are willing to go through that hassle, just email me and we'll swap info. ^.^
I mean in the little pop up thingy...not a window with all the tabs etc, but the little blogger pop up box. Ack, I don't know my technical words
My husband is snoring in the other room. He must have fallen asleep while trying to tuck the girls in hehe. I should get up and wake him but I'm too comfy for now. He's on the floor by the sounds of things. Bless.
gosfam - NO WAY!! That's not legal. Is it an at home daycare? At least in my state, the limit is 6 per adult!
and for 'real' daycares, there are ratios by age, of the YOUNGESt kid. For example, if the ratio for 3 year olds was 8 children to 1 adult, and the ratio for 8 year olds was 1 adult per 12 kids, and there was a daycare that had 10 8 year olds and just ONE 3 year old, they'd still have to have one adult per 8 kids, because of that ONE 3 year old.
Gosfam, I wouldn't be comfortable with that ratio of kids to adult. I'd definitely want there to be more adults. What ages are the other kids?
Oh trust me I know the ratios--I work at a daycare and was required to do that like all the time. The other lady and I only overlapped like 2 hrs a day
I would not be happy, Gosfam. 4mo babies need LOTS of snuggling and cuddling. I can NOT imagine dealing with 10 kids while holding a baby for a good part of the day.
And that's just personally how I would feel about MY baby. Legally, is that, the adult/child ratio, even allowed?!
i'll email you april. my email is littleheathen9109 just so you don't delete it. =]
man those cookies my friend brought are good. I dunno if any will last til morning
Anyways I was just curious because some of the people at like it is no big deal because they love the lady that runs the daycare, but I couldn't handle it anymore. My last day is the 18th and I can't wait.
I think I might have to wake my husband so he can bring me in a steady supply of cookies. I'm allowed to be a diva if I'm recovering from surgery, right? Plus I shovelled snow today and did tons of shopping and looking after kids and changing diapers and cleaning pee off the floor etc, so I think I earned myself a few cookies from the kitchen.
Awesome Emmy!! *bouncy*
yeah, i wouldn't be okay with that. just, no way.
I explained my issues with the ratios, and things haven't changed. I live in a very small town so I don't want to shut the town's daycare down, but I am not going to be a part of it anymore.
Wake up your husband you deserve some cookies and some pampering :)
You TOTALLY deserve cookies, Niecely!
You've got to go with your gut Gosfam. Mommy knows best. Have you found another place yet?
I hope it gets resolved one way or another, Gosfam. That's just way too many kids for one adult, especially if they are younger.
I can't wait for my COOKIE day tomorrow. Sugar Cookies, Peanut Butter Blossoms, and Chex Mix Muddy Buddies. MMMMM!!
And his response was, "would you like a glass of milk with that?"
He's a keeper.
Yeah it is a TOUGH situation that is why I removed myself. I just thought parents would be more concerned.
Only 20 more minutes or so!
Oh Niecey he is a keeper--what a sweetheart. My husband would do that only sometimes :)
Yeah, it's quite surprising that the other parents aren't concerned. But you're doing the right thing.
gos - wow that must be really hard for you. It's an awkawrd situation when you feel the need to protect other people schildren more than the actual parents do. I'm in that situation a LOT because of some of my much older siblings who are just, messes.
My one sister is a total mess and has four kids and half the time she mockingly calls me 'mother hen' because she thinks i'm crazy for some of the stuff I do, but it's sad becuase to me the stuff I do is SO basic. i dunno.
I am actually excited to be a SAHM again even though money will be a little tighter.
aww that's exciting!
Awwww, Gosfam! So not the reaction I'd get from my DH. I didn't even get pampering from him when I was in labor/during our homebirths.
You totally deserve it though. Snowshoveling after surgery, wow, superwoman you are!
oh sorry guys. my twitter is @boosandrawrs
haha.
My 3 yr old daughters needs me home so I am glad to get some one on one with her while sister is at school.
Ooh you had a homebirth too? I had a homebirth with number 5. It was amazing. I hope to have more in the future. It was my healing birth. Incredible.
That's awesome gosfam. I hope you enjoy being a SAHM!! What an exciting change. I am a SAHM and money is tight, but the time with them is treasure.
aww i'm so jealous of you guys with all of your babies!
Yeah I had 4 hospital inductions, then the 5th at home. The labor was 2.5 hours and I was in denial that I was in labor for 1.5 hours of that because it was NO WAY as sore as induced labor. The midwife didn't make it in time, the wee ones were sleeping so it was just my then 6 year old my husband and I. It was so beautiful. Fast, not nearly as sore as the other births, and so beautiful. I loved it.
my cousin is getting married next august and has mentioned considering a stay an at home birth, but sick babies run in our family pretty bad so she's hesitant. Theres a birthing center in our general area though that is set up for water births and stuff. seems really neat. but i'm sure it's pretty expensive.
I can't wait because I have always been home with my kids, and then this last year my hubby got out of the navy, and went back to school. I HAD to work, but now we have financial aid, and his GI bill coming in and now we will budget as needed.
in fact, here's my birth story if anyone is interested
http://nieceyd.blogspot.com/2008/09/story.html
